Last October, several thousands of experts of the Cyber Security came together in Monaco for the 18th Edition of “Les Assises de la Sécurité”.
Les Assises de la Sécurité is an unmissable event when it comes to Cyber Security. It is the biggest and most valued of its kind in Europe. Serge Telle (State Minister) opened this 18th Edition in front of a packed auditorium of buzzing experts at the Grimaldi Forum.
Cyber Risks are everywhere around us and are taken very seriously by individuals, companies and governments. 2017 was a very bad year in terms of Cyber-attacks with some devastating digital attacks. BNP, Fedex, Saint Gobain are only a few known to have suffered greatly because of viruses, darknet, ransomgiciel, cyber ransoms and cyber terrorism.
This meeting was the opportunity for many experts, buyers and persons in charge of security to discuss extensive topics relating to the developing technologies against Cyber-attacks and Data looting. L’AMS (Agence Monégasque de Sécurité Numérique) is extremely concerned with the protection of data, being within the e-admin, smart-city or e-patient system for examples. As such l’AMS was at the for front of this forum in order to learn about new technologies, improve its methodology, exchange experiences, create internal and external contacts with Monaco, share solutions, re-inforce its networks and listen to the experts.
For 4 days, all the actors of the Cyber Security united at the Grimaldi Forum, had the opportunity to attend over 200 conferences, workshops, round tables and to participate at many 30 minutes speed-meetings. ANSSI, IBM, Forescout, XMCO, Rohde & Schwarz Cybersecurity, F-Secure, Malwarebytes, Forcepoint, Hexatrust and many others were all present and sharing their expertise.
This is a unique Cyber Security event in Europe as all sectors are being represented: detection, prevention, risks analysis, digital id, IAM, solutions to protect hardware and software and much more. Over 180 companies of various sectors were present.
For the first time this year, a special area was dedicated to the Principality of Monaco. 11 security companies from Monaco and partners of the AMS, (including 2 new ones) were able to exchange amongst themselves in a secluded environment. This project was started 2 years ago and will enable these companies to work better together for themselves but also for the Monaco Community.
The cyber security market is one which is expanding with the apparition of new actors such as cyber insurers and for cause; an attack on a company of 200 to 300 employees, costs usually around 1.5 million euros.
The next event not to be missed by these professionals will be “Ready for IT” in Monaco from the 20 th to the 22nd of May 2019.
